Great little fire stick set up. Very easy to use and a good amount of hot sparks discharged per strike. I split the items and relocated them onto a neck cord set up that I made on a recent exercise overseas. Essential to have close by at all time. A very practical, useful and cost effective item to have as part of your everyday camping/bush equipment.

A solid fire stick. I switched out the striker to a sturdier piece, but other than that it went immediately into hard use and is standing up well.

Bought as a back up to my large fero rod. This one sits nicely on belt sheath as the other is too big. Only used a couple of times at the time of writing this, but it work flawlessly and got the fire started with little effort.

This is the second Ray Mears Fire stick I have purchased, to finally replace my first one which lasted about 8 years of service! That’s now a stump so I decided to treat myself to a new one. Best fire stick out there for your money I think. Decent thickness and throws a very good mount of sparks. If used properly they last a very long time. Never lets me down. Have used it all over the world. I found the striker (which I prefer to use instead of the back of my knife blade) a little poor so I replaced it with a slightly serrated one. Perhaps a good idea would be for Woodlore to adapt the striker, with one edge being straight and the other slightly serrated, just to give the option. Just an idea. Either way, it’s a great fire stick and I’d recommend it to anyone deliberating over which one to buy. As always, super swift dispatch and delivery from the Woodlore team. The rod works very well, definitely akin to the market leaders. I’m less impressed with the striker though as it doesn’t work as well as the strikers that come with rival products.
